The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period. You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them. On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you. Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. We booked an early morning snorkel today with a Kona company and the experience was literally and figuratively night and day. Just remember there are several other options out there. If you book with them, we hope you have a worthwhile experience. This was a $200+ reminder that some humans are just out for $. Another prepaying customer banged up her knee coming onto the boat at the end of snorkel and once again nothing was done. No empathy or human decency from this crew. Again, the captain did nothing and said nothing. I was told by the same crew member in a condescending tone that I should have gotten them from Lexi even though she said we receive the goggles once on the boat. I was not provided rx goggles although I noted that when registering. The captain did nothing and said nothing. Almost as if it annoyed him and he couldn’t be bothered. My husband slipped on the ladder going into the ocean, took on water, panicked and the crewman Brett? was condescending and did not even check if he was ok. These guys really know what they're doing!!! I have to say our experience was better than expected, and we had high expectations!!! Don't waste your time going out to snorkel with the mantas on a larger boat - Manta Magic is the only way to go!! We saw three mantas a total of 5 times (two made additional glide-bys) in our half hour in the water. We watched the sunset while we were in the ocean, and five minutes later we saw our first majestic manta (9-10 feet long) glide just below us. Our crew on the Hawaii Oceanic boat was simply wonderful during the short ride out and back, and our guide in the water was incredibly knowledgeable and communicative. The equipment we needed (including wetsuit) was provided very efficiently, and the briefing was thorough and entertaining. Communication was terrific, including filling out our waivers online, and being updated frequently from Lexie regarding trip logistics. Our manta ray snorkel with our family of four was outstanding from the moment we made our reservations.
